ABOUT
| JAY | |
Jay’s PB Carp, 20lb 2oz |
Jay started fishing when he was just seven, on the River Stour in Dorset, catching mainly coarse fish, such as Roach, Pearch, Dace and Chub. A few years later, he started to visit local lakes around Dorset using a floating bread technique to catch Carp. It didn’t take long before he registered a P.B of 6lb, a PB that would remain for 15 years. Years of the fishing rods and tackle firmly locked away in the shed came to an end in 2008, when Jay found himself lakeside and doing what he loves most – catching carp and being at one with nature. Known for his unusual techniques for passing the time on a slow day and having many a laugh during a session, Jay remains more committed to the Carping cause than ever. |
| CHRIS | |
Chris’ PB Carp, 21lb 1oz |
Chris, like Jay, began his fishing life angling on the Dorset Stour. He caught his first fish, aged 8, a 4oz perch on his first fishing trip, and continued fishing on the river catching coarse fish, and especially perch, for much of his childhood. After a brief flirtation with small carp fishing in his late teens, the rods remained packed away until Spring 2008. He caught his first double figured carp that spring, and was well and truly hooked once again! He invited his childhood fishing mate Jay down to Mappowder lakes that summer, and so the first seeds of Back Of The Landing Net were planted! |
| MATT | |
Matt’s PB Carp, 19lb 2oz |
Matt is a relative new comer to fishing of any sort, and experienced his first ever session in Spring this year. Made up with catching his first ever carp and bream, he wanted more! And on only his third ever trip managed to catch 3 p.b’s at 12lb, 16lb, and 19lb! Matt is only ever-present in summer due to his successful rugby career, but he could pop up at any time! |
