Set in a picturesque 40 acre country estate, our 15 acre spring fed lake, offers superb specimen carp fishing in secluded surroundings. Originally dug for gravel extraction in the 1920’s it has the look of a very mature estate lake. Being a gravel pit, the depth and contour features are varied. Depths range between 3ft and 8ft and the lake bed is a mixture of hard clay, gravel and silt. There are numerous underwater features, include an old creek bed. Margin growth is excellent. Bulrushes, reed beds and overhanging bushes are all present.

Twenty one swims have been placed strategically around the perimeter and with a maximum of 8 Anglers, every guest is guaranteed his share of water with a minimum of 14 swims to choose from. There are several double swims and the north bank can accommodate larger groups of anglers that want to fish together.

Access around the lake is very good. Flat grassy banks and easy vehicular access is maintained around most of the lake. The forest area on the west bank is being left to develop naturally and...

The lake is approximately 19 acres in area, with depths ranging from 1 to 3.5 metres. all of the banks are either tree-lined or are concealed by vegetation including tall reeds. The lake was opened at the beginning of March 2002.

There are approximately 20 swims, including 3 double swims and the number of anglers is restricted to 10 plus the on site bailiff. This allows the anglers flexibility to change swims and provide each angler with the equivalent of over 1.5 acres to fish.


The lake had previously been used for fish farming and the lake was drained at the end of October 2001 and the small carp were removed. The existing stock of larger carp were returned to the lake and supplemented by other large carp up to 55lbs.

There are no poisson chat or crayfish in the lake.

Etang du Moulin de Bley is a stunning lake of around 10 acres and is set in the heart of the unspoilt countryside and beautiful forests of d’ Aurtrey. A short drive of less than ten minutes from the lake is the mighty River Saone, which apart from its coarse fish, is home to some very large catfish and carp.

The lakes are very secluded and completely surrounded by trees and are situated on a private estate owned by the Engel family, farmers here for generations. The image below will cycle through views from each swim on this picturesque well stocked water.




The Bley Main lake is divided into 8 pegs, each one giving the angler plenty of room to fish, with some pegs having room for 2 anglers to fish side-by-side.

The lake is heavily stocked with carp of all sizes, including several 40s, it's a venue where multiple catches are frequent and anglers landing 100s during a week long session in France. In May 2008 a group of 3 anglers managed to land 260 carp, and even then they could have landed more had they not reeled in their rods for a well earned rest. THE LAKE
Formally a gravel pit, dug over 30 years ago.

This mature tree lined 7.5 acre lake is set within 12.5 acres of land.

It has good depths ranging from 3ft-26ft. Drops about two feet during the hot summer months.

We have put in a number of swims to choose from, 5 singles and 2 doubles. All are purpose built and well spaced.

Each angler is provided witha a bar-be-que and a water container which will be filled daily.

There is also a number of Carp Portersat your disposal to make life easier ferrying your gear to and from your chosen swim.

We have stocked the lake with a mixture of common and mirror carp up to 47lbs (so far...). All these fish have yet to see a hook.

We have been informed by the previous owner that there is a lot of original fish that were put in when the lake was dug. So there will hopefully be a few surprises coming out.

During the summer you will be able to find shade from the sun under the trees that line the lake

Etang la Saussaie

We are pleased to introduce our French fishing lake in the beautiful Champagne region.

Welcome to Carpe-France. We have two privately owned lakes in the champagne region of France, Etang la Saussaie a picturesque BIG FISH lake set in 15 acres of rural woodland - 14 swims Max 8 anglers being predominately a specimen carp water containing mainly carp over 30lbs and Lac Baleine a 28 acre water in 40acres of land, basically an out and out runs water where big catches of carp can be expected.

The lake, which was excavated over 30 years ago, covers 10.5 acres and is set in 15.5 acres of mature tree-lined land. It is fully fenced and has a gated entrance.
