Well, we went to Shearwater for a overnight , Sunday sess and didnt get there til about 7 on Satuday night. Drove down to the bottom car park and joy of joys there were only two on it in the very end peg by the island. Had a quick chat and they were happy for us to fish the rest of the lawn. Got set up as dark was falling, it was dark by 8pm and we were spread out over the lawn ( me margot and luke) with just the crappy peg left near the bad tree swim. Had a couple of little commons before sleepy time and an undisturbed night. Up at 5am lets get theese fishies on ther bank!! about 9am mr. Chave and his 3 friends arrive from Bristol and decide to set up in the one remaining bit of the lawn with 8 rods!!! This is despite the far bankside swims all being empty with hardly anyone on the whole lake. I do the decent thing and wind in the left rod and recast straight in front to give them some space and show where i'm fishing, ( been about 30 feet to the left all night) to be told THATS IN FRONT OF ME!!!. Had a word like you do and have to put up with the noddies castng over me all... | |||

Well here we are on shearwater. First time I've been here and I've brought my brother along with me. Got here just after 7am and it was rammed. We drove around for a bit and have managed to get a spot on the road side of the lake. Got set up pretty quick. Rods been out for a couple of hours and I just lost one. Not sure if it was because it's to shallow coming in or just the bad mouths. Any way it fell to Mistral Rosehips!! | |||

Not really a live update coz at Shearwater you are lucky even to be able to text let alone post on the forum. Took two young lads (age 7) for their first day fishing, couldnt get them to wait any longer no matter how cold it was!! Decided carp could be a problem in the cold and my 3 rods didnt produce more than a single bleep all day. Managed to get both boys a skimmer or two by fishing 10mm live system over a load of pellet, just what you wouldnt do normally on the lake. Two very happy boys, two new very keen anglers and one relieved coach!!! Bonus was that an 11 year old sister who only came for the day out is also a convert too and wants me to sort a rod for her next time. | |||
