Just returned from a weeks holiday (and fishing!) at Willowfield Lake Cottages in North Devon.
It was a fantastic place, quiet, high standard accommodation, an indoor swimming pool for my
Girlfriend, and a lovely 1 acre lake for me!
The lake itself holds carp up to 26lb, and is only fishable to people staying at the holiday
cottages. As the only person fishing there last week I had the luxury of peg choice and could move
around as much as I wanted.
With an island, lots of reed lined margins, and a small shallow inlet around 8 meters by 3 meters
there was plenty of places to try and find the carp.
I fished most days for around 3 hours in the morning and around 2 hours in the evening, probably
around 35-40 hours fishing in total. I managed 9 fish in total, all doubles between 10-13lb.
Although I didn't manage any of the bigger fish, they more than made up for it with the way they
towed me around the lake!
A great place to go away with partners/family and sneak a few hours guilt free fishing in.
