last thursday me and my friend decided to fish the smaller lake of the hunstrete complex, withy
pool.
with the weather forecast telling us it'll be 18 degrees without a cloud in the sky, we knew the
main lake would be dead and withy is known for the carp going on the surface in cool conditions so
we had no choice.
With a stock of upper singles and low 20's we were feeling confident of getting a bend in the rod,
we turnt up at the lake as it opened. It started well as we saw a few fish rolling, we both casted
a rod each on top of em and my mate had the first run, this was to continue untill midday.
with the sun at its peak we tried to get the dog biscuits out and before we could reload the
catapult for a second load they were slurping them down. An imitation dog biscuit and a bubble float
shortly followed.
after an hour of frustration we got them feeding a bit more confidently and all hell broke lose.
with 4 hours left we had 19 fish off the surface, usually a fish a chuck.
