Sunday October 31st.
While many prepared for a night of trick or treating and Halloween cheer, we here at Blackstone Carp
prepared to bank some great fall fish. Simon, Mick, Nate and I headed out to the banks in Haverhill
Massachusetts for some river fishing.
The weather was cold in the morning when we arrived with the temps dropping below 30 F the night
before. There was frost on the ground and the wind slowly grew through the morning making the air
seem that much colder. By 10 am the winds had picked, with gusts as high as 30mph. Both Nate and
Simon had landed commons in the low teens while Mick and I waited for our rods to scream off. 1030
was my turn bringing in a nice high teen common.
By noon Mick still hadn't had anything, then suddenly that changed as his alarm went screaming.
After an intense battle against the fish, wind and current Mick's first fish of the day would make
it to the net, it also ended up being the biggest of the day tipping the scales at 24 pounds! ...
