Well some ones got to start it! Have fished quite ages times out in the tropical waters of the carribean,Antigua and Barbados, and this is what I have caught.

Barbados 55lb Sail Fish we chased it for three mornings on a row as itvwas patrolling the coast line hitting the bait fish that had come in and it was my last day and nailed the sucker. Fish of a life time

Antigua on different occasions.

35lb Tarpon in a bay using light spinning rod and Shimano Baitrunners

Of the beach at hotel. Red Snapper, Nurse Shark (no teeth) so don't worry
Snook, Jacks, Stingray which are horrible to un hook due to the barb swishing around.

Baby grouper. And a few baby Barracudas around 5pm but still with razor sharp teeth.

Well I finally deicded to visit a venue I had found online afew months ago, wood farm in dorset, only a 10minute drive from me and has 2 pretty lakes

First session went quiet, only afew bites untill I started to pack up my litter just before packing the gear away and bang on 8pm I had this beauty.


Didnt weigh the fish but I guessed at 12lb, the pictures make it look alot more impressive though.

and a second visit 2 days after produced this 15lb 4oz beaut, taken from right under the rod tip.


only 2 carp I've had sofar, so still dont have an idea of what the other fish are like in there, but...

Had a couple more commons about 8/9lb over a couple of days thursday/friday :cool:

i was thinking mabye you could have anthoer thread bit called like other species of fish were you could upload photos or talk about your days fishing when you've gone fishing for pike catfish barbel etc.. does anyone else think this would be a good idea?

im looking to no im going fishing next mounth in britin but dont no where the best place is and im also a trout fishier so if you no any trout fisheries of rivers that wood be help ful thanks

Right guys, i've got a little situation to ponder.

im going to a new lake this weekend and i cant find any info on the web on it.
Just wanted your advice about starting on anew lake.

it's 4 acres with 350 carp between 8-36lb. i've heard they come up in the water with any sign of sunshine, so i'm gonna kick off fishing 2 zig rigs at different heights in the water. On my third rod i'm gonna fish on the bottom with a boilie and pva bag, with several free offerings scattered in the area.

So does this sound a good way to hit an unfamiliar water to you? what would you do?

I always back wind when playing bigger carp, but my mate said i should use the clutch. We both land about the same ammount of fish, so what's better please???:P

Where do i begin ? Well i have been fishing now for a couple of years i took up the sport when a couple of friends asked me to join them on a little days fishing. So i agreed after there was nothing else to do on this hot day. Well we arrived at this lake i did not have a rod at the time so for a bit i sat and watched it got boring for me not having nothing to do so i messed around as young people do which annoys other anglers. So what i did i snapped a fairly large stick off a tree and tied some line a size 18 hook to the end and i hooked a maggot on the hook. I dipped it in second later i had a fish i lifted it up it was a three spine stickle back i was really made up i decided to buy a rod and carry on going.
when i finaly got a rod and reel we went to a small water night fishing just as we got there my friend seen a large fish surfacing so he tied a piece of bread to it and through it in instantly he had hooked it i took up the job of landing the fish as it got to the net it was a big fish we...

I'm new to the forum and new to fishing too, me and a couple of mates done a night at the woodhouse lake in St Helens/Newton (North West Area).

About 7am the next morning my rod screams off, and i catch my first ever carp.
