The lake dates back to the 1700s when it was used for the digging of peat.It was purchased from the French peat fuel industry and successfully converted to the popular carp fishery that you see today. The site covers approx 7 acres and each swim has been positioned perfectly to give each angler his own space. We have 8 swims but keep bookings to a maximum of 6 to give our guests the opportunity to move around if they so wish. As well as lily pads, there are overhanging trees,an island,and some lovely margins to fish to and explore during your stay.

In the deepest area of Orne ( lower Normandy ) you will find the French carp lake GENESIS where the nearby town of Carrouges (15 minutes away) lies with it’s chateau from the 14th century. The owner at the time was a French Knight, Sir Jean de Carrouges, who was surrounded with mystery, romance and valour. In 1367 the town and castle was destroyed by the English, and rebuilt by order of Charles V of France.
We bought the lake earlier in the year and have been busy preparing swims, etc. 2 ton of Carp went into the lake in February 08. There are commons and mirrors with 7 koi’s and one grass carp as a bonus. They range from 13 lbs upto 35 lbs and a good head of 20lb+ . This was in addition to existing stock so a mystery catch could be on the cards! The lake has never been seriously fished and is over two hundred years old (pre Napoleonic).

Elphicks has been designed and built with the modern angler in mind. We have 5 lakes available for day ticket and session fishing including; 2 specimen Carp and Catfish waters, 2 ‘mixed fish’ runs waters and a dedicated ‘non-Carp’ species lake. Each lake has its own parking within easy reach of the swims and all swims are ‘all weather’ – either built of Astroturf or stone. Rainbow Lake is situated on Newbridge Road, Burstwick, just past Hedon on the Withernsea road in East Yorkshire, is well stocked and has a large selection of fish for all types of anglers.
John and Linda have own this well stocked lake and have a re-stocking plan to make his one of the best fishing lakes in the area. So keep looking in the News to read about the catches, and the Gallery to see the variety of fish caught.
The fish in the lake are Common, Grass, Mirror, and Ghost Carp, Bream, Roach, Tench, Rudd, Chubb, Perch, Eels, and Gudgin. The largest fish caught was a Mirror Carp at 29lb, Commons to 22 lb and the Grass and Ghost carp to 18 lb.

The Three Lakes

The lakes are beautifully landscaped, safe and well thought out, incorporating bays, controlled weed beds, rushes and islands. The swims are large, safe and comfortable for night fishing.

There are two well stocked specimen lakes containing many superb specimen carp, up to 35lb, the larger of the two specimen lakes - Lake 2, also contains an abundance of catfish, some over 50lb together with specimen carp. Both of these lakes have well kept natural grassy banks with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, a truly magical place to spend the day fishing.




The Mixed Lake 3 holds a wide variety of fish with masses of small carp (common and mirror) up to about 8lbs, tench, roach, rudd, bream, crucians and really good perch, some to 4lb.

This lake is ideal for pole, whip and waggler fishing. Anglers have had huge bags of fish in one prolific session.

Folly Foot lake is a well established, mature fishery offering day or night fishing. Non-fishing partners are welcome. The lake covers approximately 3 acres in a beautiful & tranquil setting at the foot of the Quantock Hills. Folly Foot really is one of the top Carp Fishing locations in the UK.

The lake is well stocked with a variety of Koi, Mirror, Common and Ghost Carp. The majority of which weigh in the doubles, plenty in the twenties and a few very large fish.

A mature six acre estate type lake set in the Bedfordshire countryside close to the River Ouse and a nature reserve, located on the Wyboston Lakes complex close to the A1 and A428 junctions near St. Neots (postcode region MK44 3AL). The lake itself has 3 islands, many gravel bars, lily pads and excellent bank side cover. About 6-8 feet deep on average, the lake does have a deep, secluded bay with 1 good swim commanding the area. The 'shallow end' boasts 3 swims, and lily pads - a good 'stalking' area. There are 14 top-quality swims in total.

Today myself and my mate Craig hit Whitemoor lake. After covering it in BOTLN with Jay (episode 28) I wanted to return as we only could do 4 hours previously.



we started at the top end of the lake. Before long Craig had hooked into a monster, but the hook pulled :@ But i had managed to bank this cheeky 8lb common.



After a chat with the owner, and no action for about 3 hours, we decided to move to the bottom of the lake, nearer the sanctuary, where we knew the carp were constantly moving to and from it.

Filmed a quick episode today. Bit of a disaster with venues:
1st choice- we didn't get a reply to an 'by appointment only' venue- nice as they use our video on the front page of their website!
2nd choice- arrived this morning, and discovered lakes were closed until March:(
3rd choice- got to the lake side and saw it was a 'members only' lake. After driving 3 miles down bumpy mud tracks and being told it was a day ticket lake:@

Eventually we found a lake we could fish on :D it was a lake we didnt really want to fish, but taking into account our stuttering start, and only having a few hours left to fish, we had an ok day!:rolleyes:

A two lake complex with a brand new lake opened January 1st 2010. Really good average size caught here, being about 15lb from our experience! Nicely tucked away in stunning scenery.
