Just thinking about my pva bags and was wondering what you guys put in yours?

My favourite bag mix is 4 crumbled boilies, 4 half boilies, 2 whole boilies, and then a pellet mix. (ten pellet now but before 3 sizes of trout pellet) Thinking maybe i need something extra, something to give it a kick maybe?

hi ive been watching the back of the landing net guide to making boilies, ive been tomy local supermarket and for the life of me i cannot find any oat bran or rice flour can anyone think of any substitues for these ingerdients that i can get in the supermarket, i have the colouring and what flavouring i want but just the dry mix im struggling with????

as most of us know the rod license expires on the 31st march so remeber to get one or renew your old one, for course fishing its £27 for the full year and for salmon and migratory fish its £72. Its worth the money considering you can get a £2500 pound fine and most of the time get all your tackle took off you aswel.

So how many of us when using pop ups or critically balanced baits, test the buoyancy in a couple of inches of water in the bottom of a bucket or in the lakes margin?
Well this may just change the way you think about buoyant baits.


In the summer of 2005 my cousin and i was diving a lake on a golf course recovering golf balls for 4 days.
Since i had got back into carp fishing a couple of years previous to this, after a couple years break and knowing what i knew from my scuba diving instruction, reguarding the effects of water pressure. I was always skeptical on how pop up's were really reacting once under water, for any length of time.
I saw this few days as the perfect opportunity to carry out some experiments with pop ups at different depths (much to my cousins disgust and amusement!) and the results even surprised me.

I used many different types of pop ups when doing the experiments including normal pop ups, air ball, cork dust, cork ball and Mainlines supposedly ultra buoyant pop ups and they all performed...

I have 3 on my list,

2x the shimano bait runner/ rod combo's
1x Bivvy of some kind and a Nash tt Rig Station
